Helping the locals

The trip to Imlil in the High Atlas mountains gave us our first view of life outside of the city. The walk from the centre of Marrakech to the outskirts, where the grand taxis leave, was a hot & sweaty affair.

The cool breeze of the mountain air was a welcome respite.

We arranged our guide & mule for five days in the mountains, and on returning to the house where we would stay the night, ended up helping the locals move some building materials up the mountain. Everything up here is transported by hand.
